AKASH BHATT (India and Serbia) - percussion :
Trained in the art of playing the ‘Tabla’ in his early childhood at the Saptak School of Music, Akash Bhatt is a musician and a practicing Architect living in Ahmedabad. During his stay in the Eastern Europe from 2001 to 2014 (had won the SOROS Foundation Scholarship for performing Arts in 2001), he gained experience of performing various music genres such as the Balkan music, Sephardic, Turkish/Oriental, Arabain Music, contemporary, Ethno Jazz Fusion etc. Apart from continuing his collaborations with musicians based in Europe and performing in different Festivals, he also performs as a percussionist with musicians from Ahmedabad in festivals in India. He has also collaborated with the Darpana Academy of Performing arts as a performer/musician, and music composer in the past.
MAYANK KAPADIA (bass guitar) is Ahmedabad’s most sought young musician also born in a family of musicians. Mayank has, at very early age, already performed different genres of music such as Bolly wood, Indian Rock and pop, Indian folk as well Jazz & Fusion music. Thus, he has become one of the most versatile musicians belonging to the city of Ahmedabad. He has travelled all over India with different music projects/musicians from Ahmedabad. Like his father and elder brother; he is also a busy session musician for different recording studios of Ahmedabad.
NAYAN KAPADIA (Key board/piano) is born in a family of musicians – his father and all brothers are professionally involved in playing music with different musicians and music genres. Nayan has learned music from his father as well elder brothers. Nayan is the youngest and one of the most talented KeyBoard players belonging to Ahmedabad. At very early age he has already performed with bands of Ahmedabad playing different genres of music such as Bolly wood, Indian Rock and pop, Indian folk as well Jazz & Fusion music. He has travelled all over India with different music projects/musicians from Ahmedabad.
PARTHA SARKAR (Flute - Bansuri) Born and raised in the family of musicians, he has explored music since his early childhood with his father. Later on he became disciple of Pandit Shree Hariprasad Caurasiya - and became an accomplished musician mainly for North Indian Classical music, fusion as well Indian light music genres. He is a faculty at Saptak School of music – Ahmeabad teaching Bansuri..
VANRAJ SHASTRI (Sarangi & Vocals) Born and raised in the family of musicians, he has explored music since his early childhood with his father & brothers, and become an accomplished musician mainly for North Indian Classical music, fusion as well Indian light music genres. Initially trained to play the Tabla, he acquired formal training in North Indian Classical singing at Saptak School of music – learnt the Sarangi at ITC – Sangeet Research Academy – Kolkata. At present, he is receiving training of “Maihar Gharana” under the guidance of Vidhushi Smt. Manju Mehta (co-founder of the Saptak School of Music). Apart from this, he holds many awards, travels all around India and performs with various musicians and bands including international musicians in different festivals. At present he is also working with “KADAMB SCHOOL OF KATHAK DANCE”.
